First Page Search Results for Tynan
How cool is that? If you search for my first name, Tynan, this blog comes up fifth on google! I check where I rank on a bunch of keywords every once in a while, and this is the first time I’ve been on the first page. Hopefully soon I will be the first search result.
What’s strange is that MSN usually gives me really good rankings, but I’m on the second page for my name there.

Unfortunately, if your first name is a fairly common word, found in most dictionaries, and is also a populous American city, and a mythological creature, the chances of getting a first-page hit are fairly remote. Actually, I think my chances of being in the first million (out of the 362,000,000 results) is fairly remote.
However, if you include my last name (another common name, also an archangel, 118m results on its own), the very first result is my userscripts.org profile page, that links to my blog. Not ideal, but not bad. ^_^
It’s too bad I no longer go by my unusually-spelled middle name (only 723k results), but if you put my first and middle names together, I’m the #1 hit. ^_^ Nice.
Am I the only one that has never googled themselves before? It’s really interesting. Thanks, Tynan!
