New Song : KRISTEN
Here’s a new song I made for my friend Kristen. She made me a CD of her favorite music and drew on it (she’s an artist). In an effort to convert her to the gangsta side, I made her a CD with rap on it. Since I can’t draw I made her a track for the intro. You can listen to it.
I think my rapping style is improving. I still want to take voice lessons to get my voice more in tune. In case you didn’t read the earlier post, the song references the rattlesnake incident.

I could only hear like 4 seconds of it then it was over. I don’t know if its just me or what but just thought I would let you know.

Anyone else have a problem? Works fine for me. Maybe try again, David…

Haha, awesome song. It stopped after 10 or so seconds for me the first time, but when I refreshed the page it worked correctly.

Haha I love it. You should go out and buy Tom Greens new CD “prepare for impact” It’s old school hiphop my favorite song on the CD is called “I Like Hooters” I think you would enjoy it.
Anyways very good. It sounds like a high quality recording.

Ive listened to it like 5 times now….You should make it downloadable.. !LIGHTBULB! Make a download section, of course after you make your blog gallery.
April 2nd, 2006 at 12:35 am
Awesome… glad you guys like it. You can download by right clicking and saving it!
April 2nd, 2006 at 12:50 am
It says I have to buy quicktime pro 7 before I can save it.
April 2nd, 2006 at 1:14 am
if it says you need pro, you’re trying to save from inside the plugin.
just ctrl-click (or right-click if you have a better mouse) it and “download linked file” (mac::safari) or right-click and do whatever it is you do… I’m so glad I don’t remember how to use windows anymore.

I like it. I can hear eminem influence there? Maybe… its good. Try some beat mixing its kinda repeating itself. Little faster and the beat little quieter maybe? Good overall…. just now apply your “breaking into a secret society” tehnic and start rapping for money. Oh I get the first CD for free

Great song.
The only thing I would try to change when you’re rapping would be less singing and more rapping when saying the lyrics. This Specially true if you’re going for more of a ganster image.

Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, um, what are the songs on the CD?
April 2nd, 2006 at 11:21 am
I disagree with Electronic — one of the things I really like about it is the “singing-rap” it’s unique — Please dont change to monotone rap! I love the song — I’m jealous of Kristen and I hope that you will take me up on my suggestion to write one for me!
I can’t wait to hear you on the radio..

I think its perfect the way it is. Ladytea hit it on the head.

I’m not REALLY going for the gangsta image. I just think it’s funny to pretend that I think I’m gangsta occasionally. I love gangsta rap, but I’ve found that people prefer my songs if they’re more authentic.

Oh, and I forgot to say - thanks for the comments! I appreciate the compliments AND criticism.

Right click and do “save link as” (on firefox) in IE im pretty sure its “save target as” and choose a place to save it to.
Fantastic song, for some reason i like it better than all the stuff on 93.3/99.7.
For the people having trouble with the whole song:
Pause it for like 30 seconds and then start it over, its because you have your buffer time set too long so it starts playing before the song has finished downloading.

Hell ya tynan! I had no idea you were that good. Did it take you a while to make those lyrics, or did you rattle that shit off your head? Sweeet!
April 3rd, 2006 at 2:08 am
Thanks guys! Jason - it doesn’t take me too long to write the lyrics. What takes me a long time is the tweaking phase. I change little things here and there and rerecord to hear what it sounds like. That said, I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than a few hours making a song.

Hey tynan,
I have an idea for a website and I need your input. Could you email me so I can go into detail with it?

‘Kristen Rap’ is PRIME

[...] Hey guys… last Saturday Jonah and I attempted to tame the mighty paraglider with considerable help from both Milo and Kristen. I think ultimately the paraglider tamed us, though. Luckily we have video which I am working on editting down for your viewing pleasure. [...]

Wow, that song is awesome. Your rhyming and rythm is dead on, although I agree that your voice needs a little bit more work. I love how you don’t have to force anything, it sounds like you could be just talking.

this is actually pretty good!
you might want to limit your double backing vocals during your verses and some switch ups in the beat would be good too.
you have talent as a rapper though bro, keep doing your thing.
